Course overview
This module is designed to facilitate participants to undergo additional practical training to be able to perform interventional procedures unassisted as agreed with the participants clinical department. Completion of the module would enable to participant to extend their scope of practice within interventional radiography.
Aim
This module aims to facilitate participants development of advanced knowledge and practical skill in the participants chosen area of practice. Successful completion of the module will enable the student to demonstrate competence at performing interventional procedures unassisted as agreed with the participants clinical department.
Assessment
Formative assessment:
Learning contract agreed with the participant, clinical mentor and module leader.

Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and Understanding:
- Demonstrate appropriate advanced knowledge and understanding of interventional procedures to competently and autonomously perform procedures unsupervised.

- Critically evaluate and reflect how participants knowledge and skill will impact upon clinical service and department.
Practical Skills:
- Create a structured plan for learning and competency development.
- Competently perform unassisted a range of interventional procedures agreed with the clinical department.

None – if enrolled upon the Pg Cert Interventional Radiology (Extended Practice)
If undertaking this module as CPD, participants must have previously successfully completed the Pg Cert Interventional Radiology (Theory) or individual theory modules: Interventional Radiology Imaging & Equipment, Theoretical Concepts of Interventional Radiology Procedures and Advanced Patient Care in Interventional Radiology.
Co-requisites
If enrolled upon the Pg Cert Interventional Radiology (Practice) participants will also complete theory modules: Interventional Radiology Imaging & Equipment, Theoretical Concepts of Interventional Radiology Procedures and Advanced Patient Care in Interventional Radiology.
